Mindfulness is the intentional cultivation of moment-to-moment attention and awareness in order to enhance behavioral, academic and social-emotional learning to assure life readiness. As we practice mindfulness, we become more aware of direct experiences, beyond the chattering mind. As a result, we begin to act in accordance with their essence, potential, and purpose.
During this time of physical distancing, Broward is getting connected through mindfulness to support one another as we reduce stress, build resiliency, and cultivate well-being. Learn more with this Welcome to Mindfulness flyer or click here to visit the Mindfulness in BCPS Canvas portal that was created to provide students, families, and staff with high quality online mindfulness-based education, support, and resources. Staff wishing to incorporate mindfulness into the classroom can follow these easy steps to do so with Inner Explorer.
Want to learn more? Become more mindful with the mindfulness resources and curriculum located on the BCPS Social & Emotional Learning (SEL) & Mindfulness webpage. Interested in having the staff at your school taught on how to integrate this into their classroom? Contact us at 754-321-1655.
