These Internet safety curricula will help you provide the highest quality education in a safe, respectful and violence-free environment. We recommend you choose an evidence-based curriculum or proven programs, but has provided other options that may better suit your needs. Anti-Defamation League (ADL)
ADL's anti-bias education helps to create and sustain an inclusive and violence free school. ADL has lessons on all violence prevention related topics, many with videos.
A Thin Line, MTV
Things that start out as a funny wall post, a sarcastic photo comment, or a flirty text can turn hurtful, obnoxious, or even abusive. This site provides videos, facts, quizzes and advice about boundary-defying activities like sexting, constant messaging, spying and digital disrespect – so your students will know where the line is, and be ready to draw their own.

Resource aimed at creating a way to educate, communicate, and report online abuse. Has supporting resources for students, parents, caregivers, and educators on online safety to keep themselves and their computers safe from harm.
Designed to combat bullying on a range of topics, this site contains numerous videos featuring celebrities and youth. They are high quality, generally short and come with lessons.
Each Monthly Character Education Newsletter and Family Newsletter contains lessons, videos and activities on BCPS's 8 character traits. These traits promote positive behavior and create a safer and more respectful learning environment for our students.
Child Safety Matters, Monique Burr Foundation
Program is provided at no cost to FL public elementary school teachers, learn more. Lessons educate and empower students with information and strategies to prevent, recognize, and respond appropriately to bullying, cyberbullying, all types of child abuse, digital abuse, and other digital dangers.
Common Sense Education , Digital Citizenship Curriculum
Online curriculum made up of 65 grade-differentiated lesson plans. The Scope & Sequence consists of 3 units for grade K-2, 3-5, and 6-8, and 4 units for grades 9-12. Each unit has 5 lessons, family activities, and professional development resources. Topics include cyberbullying, privacy, safety, and more. Cyberbullying vs. the 1st Amendment for Administrators
BCPS Administrators can attend this workshop and learn the legal parameters of where freedom of speech ends and suspension begins. This 3 hour optional training can be found by going to MyLearningPlan.com. Look for either title – “Consequencing Cyberbullying for Administrators” or “Cyber-bullying VS. The First Amendment.”
Delivers free engaging digital resources to equip students with critical skills for success beyond the classroom. The digital education platform has lessons, videos, surveys, assessments, and interactive exercises that teach financial capability, character, substance abuse prevention, STEM, health & wellness, social-emotional learning, relationships skills, cultural & civic literacy, and career preparedness.

This list of free materials, multimedia and curriculum is divided into the 6 strands of prevention.
Curriculum addresses knowledge, attitude, and skill development. Provides opportunities to practice behaviors promoting lifelong health and violence prevention. Login using group code ‘browardfl’.
Teaches basic rules of Internet safety to children and parents, reaching them online and in school. Provides K-12 curriculum and videos.
InCtrl, Teaching Digital Citizenship
Series of free standards-based lessons and videos teach key digital citizenship concepts through inquiry-based activities, and collaborative and creative opportunities.

Kindness in the Classroom , Random Acts of Kindness
Offers free lesson plans, kindness projects, and kindness club ideas. Curriculum features developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned lessons teaching important social and emotional (SEL) skills.
An online instrument providing comprehensive lesson plans and interactive multi-modal assessment tools. Leaps is a research-based, practical program that improves behavior and grades whether the interventions are needed at Tier I, Tier II, or Tier III.

Grades K-12, Parents
Contains numerous resources in the forms of games, guides, lesson plans, tip sheets, and workshops on the topics of alcohol marketing, body image, technology usage and online safety, cyberbullying, digital citizenship, diversity and minorities, gender representation, human rights, media literacy, sexting, tobacco marketing, violence and much more.

Planting Seeds of Prevention Curriculum Book
Contains prevention curriculum on violence prevention, instructional strategies, health and wellness, and substance abuse prevention.
Reality Avenue, "Cyberlife: What’s REALLY Happening Online?"Grades 6-12
This 30 minute video with lesson empowers students to take control of their Internet experience and remain safe while online. Download the video and utilize the Lesson Plan with discussion prompters. You can also download and view the video's script. Reality Avenue has two show formats, 1) twelve, 30 minute shows on prevention topics such as Body Image, Addiction, Internet, Teen Stress, Self Injury, Diversity, Self Esteem, Depression/Anger, Bullying, Divorce, Character, and Relationships 2) eight, 10-15 minute shows on the District’s eight character traits.
This series of 8 engaging character prevention education television programs are 10-15 minutes long, and relate to each of the District’s character traits: cooperation (September), responsibility (October), citizenship (November), kindness (December), respect (January), honesty (February), self-control (March), and tolerance (April). The shows have class lessons and discussion prompters as well.
Social and emotional (SEL) teaching program uses teaching strategies with activities to reduce bullying by developing student skills to communicate, cooperate, connect, embrace diversity, and resolve conflict.

This 7 step non-punitive, group intervention seeks to reduce bullying by increasing empathy and bystander action.
