Choose from these bullying prevention programs and curriculum to provide the highest quality education in a safe, respectful and violence-free environment. We recommends you choose an evidence-based curriculum or proven program, but have provided other options as well. The ABCs of Bullying Prevention Book
Contains 3 bullying prevention lessons per grade which teach the key concepts every student needs to know to stop bullying. 1) What is bullying? 2) Why should I care about it? and 3) What can I do to prevent it?
Above the Influence (ATI)
Every student’s life is filled with pressure, some of it good, some of it bad. The goal of ATI is to help students stand up to negative pressures and influences such as drugs and alcohol, bullying, discrimination, or any other destructive behavior or attitude. Use the ATI Toolkit's lessons as a stand-alone, or in preparation for the annual ATI March.
Anti-Defamation League (ADL)
ADL's anti-bias education helps to create and sustain an inclusive and violence-free school. ADL has lessons on all violence prevention related topics, many with videos.
A Thin Line, MTV
Things that start out as a funny wall post, a sarcastic photo comment, or a flirty text can turn hurtful, obnoxious, or even abusive. This site provides videos, facts, quizzes and advice about boundary-defying activities like sexting, constant messaging, spying and digital disrespect – so your students will know where the line is, and be ready to draw their own.Be the 1 Positive School Culture Initiative (PSCI) ToolkitGrades K-12This Toolkit helps to create safer and more respectful school environments where all students can thrive. BCPS Policy 5.9 Training Modules
Access the mandatory Anti-Bullying Policy 5.9 annual trainings for BCPS staff, students and parents.
Designed to combat bullying on a range of topics, this site contains numerous videos featuring celebrities and youth. They are high quality, generally short and come with lessons.
Each Monthly Character Education Newsletter and Family Newsletter contains lessons, videos, and activities on BCPS's 8 character traits. These traits promote positive behavior and create a safer and more respectful learning environment for our students.
Child Safety Matters, Monique Burr Foundation
The program is provided at no cost to FL public elementary school teachers, learn more. Lessons educate and empower students with information and strategies to prevent, recognize, and respond appropriately to bullying, cyberbullying, all types of child abuse, digital abuse, and other digital dangers.
Class meetings is a well researched longstanding approach to creating healthy and successful students, connected classrooms, and positive school-wide climates.
Common Sense Education, Digital Citizenship Curriculum
Online curriculum made up of 65 grade-differentiated lesson plans. The Scope & Sequence consists of 3 units for grade K-2, 3-5, and 6-8, and 4 units for grades 9-12. Each unit has 5 lessons, family activities, and professional development resources. Topics include cyberbullying, privacy, safety, and more.
This universal primary prevention curriculum teaches youth healthy relationship skills to reduce interpersonal violence. The curriculum is for students in grades 6 (6 lessons) and 7 (7 lessons) and is based on the Safe Dates proven program. Learn more from the CDC. The digital education platform has lessons, videos, surveys, assessments, and interactive exercises that teach financial capability, character, substance abuse prevention, STEM, health & wellness, social-emotional learning, relationships skills, cultural & civic literacy, and career preparedness. Violence related lessons include Honor Code (grades 8-10), Say Something (grades 9-12), and The Compassion Project Lesson Plans for Teaching Empathy & Compassion (grades 2-4).

Get Real About Violence
A research-based prevention curriculum that helps build a culture of non-violence. The program targets a wide range of violent behavior including bullying, teasing, and rumors for younger children or threats and assaults for older. Access in SharePoint.
Curriculum addresses knowledge, attitude, and skill development. Provides opportunities to practice behaviors promoting lifelong health and violence prevention. Login using group code ‘browardfl’.

KidsHealth in the Classroom, The Nemours Foundation
Free SEL health-related lessons, discussion questions, activities, handouts, and quizzes aligned to Standards. Topics include internet safety, bullying, peer pressure, empathy, healthy relationships, emotions, behavioral health, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, body health, infectious diseases, and more. Kids Against Bullying Toolkit, PACER
Online creative bullying prevention education resources. Toolkits include event planning, student involvement, and lesson plans.
Kindness in the Classroom, Random Acts of Kindness
Offers free lesson plans, kindness projects, and kindness club ideas. The curriculum features developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned lessons teaching important social and emotional (SEL) skills.
An online instrument providing comprehensive lesson plans and interactive multi-modal assessment tools. Leaps is a research-based, practical program that improves behavior and grades whether the interventions are needed at Tier I, Tier II, or Tier III.
The Ned Show
Free lessons, printables, and videos that have been utilized as part of the BCPS Anti-Bullying Student Training Module. NED is a loveable cartoon character whose name is an acronym for Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best. Teach your students to be upstanders who prevent bullying. Available in SharePoint or the the Ned Show website.

Planting Seeds of Prevention Curriculum Book
Contains prevention curriculum on violence prevention, instructional strategies, health and wellness, and substance abuse prevention.
PBS/PBIS (Positive Behavior Support/Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports)
PBIS is a prevention oriented multitiered framework for school personnel to (a) organize evidence-based practices, (b) implement those practices with high fidelity, and (c) maximize academic and social behavior outcomes for all students. Use these PBIS guides for elementary and middle and high. as well as website resources to reduce bullying behavior through the blending of school-wide positive behavior support, explicit instruction, and a redefinition of the bullying construct.
Positive School Culture Initiative

The show series has two show formats available: 1) twelve, 30 minute shows on prevention topics such as Body Image, Addiction, Internet, Teen Stress, Self Injury, Diversity, Self Esteem, Depression/Anger, Bullying, Divorce, Character, and Relationships 2) eight, 10-15 minute shows on the District’s eight character traits. They can also be watched via BECON TV’s EduVision Video Portal.
This series of 8 engaging character prevention education television programs are 10-15 minutes long, and relate to each of the District’s character traits: cooperation (September), responsibility (October), citizenship (November), kindness (December), respect (January), honesty (February), self-control (March), and tolerance (April). The shows have class lessons and discussion prompters as well.
This research-based proven program consists of 10 lessons, a play, and a poster contest. It teaching healthy relationship skills to prevent dating violence. Learn more and contact us for the lessons if you want them in your class.
Sandy Hook Promise

Social and emotional (SEL) teaching program uses teaching strategies with activities to reduce bullying by developing student skills to communicate, cooperate, connect, embrace diversity, and resolve conflict.
Training for children and teens on how to recognize signs, especially in social media, of an individual who may be a threat to them self or others and say something to a trusted adult to get them help. All training is paid for by Sandy Hook Promise, call us to access the training 754-321-1655.

This free educational kit can be downloaded online or delivered as a kit. It includes lessons, coloring pages, and a video. It is designed to help students develop respect and compassion for all living beings and learn how to make a difference for animals.
Spookley The Square Pumpkin
Complete Digital Teacher Anti-bullying Toolkit (pre-school, K-3) accompanies The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin book. It includes discussion guidelines, learning activities and examples, a classroom play, and a video of the book reading. Available online or in SharePoint.
Stand Strong Teleconference

The Support Group Method of Bullying Intervention
This 7 step non-punitive, group intervention seeks to reduce bullying by increasing empathy and bystander action.
